Meet the Pastor
Michael Scott was born and raised in Lewisville, Texas, and attended Grace Baptist Church in Flower Mound, Texas for his entire childhood. Having been reared in a conservative Christian home, his father and brother led him to receive Christ as his Savior when he was five years old. He graduated from Grace Christian Academy, a ministry of his home church, in 2010, and was then led to attend Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in the fall of 2011. This is where, under the leadership of several men of God, he fully realized God’s call to ministry and surrendered to preach in 2012 at the age of 20. He graduated from HBBC in 2015 with his bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Theology and in 2017 with a Master of Ministry degree. It was at college that Michael met the love of his life, Kelsi, and they were married on December 16, 2017.
In June 2017, after his college graduation, Michael went back to his home church to serve on staff as an assistant pastor, where he was able to teach in the Christian high school and gain many beneficial ministry experiences. His wife also served in the Christian school during this time, as a First and Second Grade teacher until 2019 when the Lord blessed them with their first son Andrew, on their second wedding anniversary. The Scotts are expecting their second son in October 2023.
At the age of 30, the Lord then led Michael to candidate at First Baptist Church of Del City, where, after much prayer and seeking the Lord, the church unanimously voted for him to become pastor in February 2023. After finishing up his responsibilities at the Christian School in Flower Mound, Texas, he and his family moved to Oklahoma at the end of May 2023. Our pastor and our church are passionate about seeing souls saved, lives changed, and glorifying and pleasing the Lord in all that we do. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for our church and how He will choose to use us as we continue moving forward by faith and for His glory.
